Since its onset, COVID-19 had an unfavourable fallout on public health systems, livelihoods, and economies further marginalising vulnerable communities around the world. In this scenario, community preparedness is imperative in managing risk through dissemination of accurate information. A socially cohesive and informed response to COVID-19 can effectually break the chain of transmission and mitigate the impact of the pandemic especially in terms of how ‘risk’ is communicated.
