Mid-State Technical College is one of 12 sites benefitting from what is intended to be a statewide plan to address worker shortages."What existed long before this pandemic and still exists today is a shortage of workers," Governor Tony Evers said, in a public appearance at the college Tuesday. Now, with up to $9 million being granted to Mid-State, some solutions may be in the works, including a facilities project to help train and retain workers."5 million of [the $9 million] is going to help construct our AMETA centre, which is an advanced manufacturing project," Mid-State president Shelly Mondeik said.The funds are intended to serve all of central Wisconsin in breaking barriers to employment.
