By India Today Web Desk: Registrations have begun for the Young Scientist India (YSI) innovation challenge for Indian school students of Classes 8 to 12 from October 5. The top entrepreneurs or innovators will walk away with over half a million rupees in prize money.

The Young Scientist India (YSI) programme was created by Space Kidz India in 2013 to encourage high school students to explore their creativity and showcase innovative ideas, and has now become one of the most prestigious science challenges for youngsters. It was launched to help build better science awareness among students and inspire them to take up scientific careers.
