What is process management?

It refers to a systematic approach of ensuring that there are sufficient and efficient processes in place and that these are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives. It is about how the organisation designs, implements, and comes up with systems to measure the processes. Managers must be educated and organised so that they can be able to manage systems that are in place effectively. Another important thing to note is that this phenomenon is ongoing because it applies to the day-to-day activities of the organisation.

All organisations involve various systems. For a bakery, buying ingredients, getting packages, baking different goods, and selling baked goods involves many processes that lead up to the end goal which is the output. If there are no processes in place that are efficient, the organisation may be drastically impacted or even fail.
